Welcome to Star En Garde!
Over the centuries, humanity has expanded out into the stars. Eventually, much of the Galaxy was dotted with human colonies. In time, these joined into republics, kingdoms, and empires, which made war and traded with each other.
One of the greatest of these called itself simply The Empire. Colonized by Catholic missionaries, this section of space was eventually ruled by generation after generation of Catholic Emperors and Empresses. It became an oasis of civilization and progress in a torn galaxy. Much of this had to do with the efforts of the Church and of a group called the Guardians, dedicated to peace, learning and justice in the Galaxy.
